Corpses in Combat
In the second episode of Filhos da Diaspora, we tell the story of two struggles that are intertwined with the history of two countries, Martinique and Brazil. We will show you how ladja and capoeira became great symbols of black resistance against colonization and how they adapted to stay alive. Throughout the episode, you will notice that the bond between them begins at birth, goes through the beat of drums and continues in the expression of bodies in combat. Ladja and capoeira not only manifest our ancestral memory, but also show our leading role in the struggles for freedom.
