In this episode, historian Leonardo Ângelo da Silva presents his study "A city and an industrial complex under the myth of racial democracy". The scenario is the Vale do Paraíba region, in the south of the state of Rio de Janeiro, which initially lived on coffee production and then became industrialized. This project is the result of a partnership between the Network of Black Historians and Black Historians with Cultne TV and Portal Geledés In each episode we will present excellent academic research produced by black historians on the most diverse topics that involve people of African descent in Brazil and in the world. Strengthening reflections aimed at overcoming racism in Brazil and democratizing knowledge through historical literacy practices. The project has a special interest in contributing to the process of implementing Law 10.639/two thousand and three, which made the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture mandatory.
