Eyes that condemn
Netflix has just launched the dramatic series based on real events "Eyes that Condemn" into its global catalog. The Series tells the story of five teenagers from the outskirts of New York who end up accused and convicted of a sexual crime they did not commit. But the question that remains unanswered is, how was it so easy to accuse, try and convict five young black and Latino men for a crime that they clearly did not commit? To find this answer, we will delve into the recent history of the USA and together with Caio Cesar (@geocaio) we will try to reflect a little on the damage in the symbolic and material field caused by the stereotype of the Myth of the Black Rapist.
